Worship is at the center of the Christian life, a life dedicated to honouring God by loving Him with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12:30). It is a lifestyle in which our love for God motivates all we do, whether we are singing together on Sunday, contemplating God’s greatness in all of creation or taking soup to a sick neighbour. As we learn to worship God with all we are and in all we do we begin to understand what it means to grow in our faith, serve one another and bless those around us.

Discipleship is a life-long journey in which we become more like Jesus in our motivations, conduct and character. Growth happens individually and as a community when we intentionally focus our hearts and minds to learn and to be transformed by the teaching of Jesus (2 Peter 1:5-8). Growth is vital in making us ready to serve one another and the world around us (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

In our journey to be like Jesus, we become aware that the Holy Spirit empowers and uniquely equips us with talents, abilities and spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12:7-11) to serve others. We believe that we each have a part to play in the life of the church and that the whole is served as each of us serves (Ephesians 4:16). We also believe that serving together in the church creates opportunities to nurture authentic relationships. Our motivation to serve grows out of a humble, sacrificial and loving heart that allows God to use us to bless others.

Jesus loves us with an eternal and selfless love that fills and motivates us to bless others both inside and outside the church. Out of the overflow of God’s love, we look for opportunities to bless others by meeting financial, physical, emotional and spiritual needs. To comfort the broken, free the captives, seek justice for the oppressed, open the eyes of the blind, and speak good news to the poor (Isaiah 61:1-3). God desires to use us to bless others and through those blessings to change the world.
