Pastor Philip (Phil) DesJardine
Pastor Phil grew up in Tiverton Ontario, about an hour north west of Palmerston. Phil was raised in a Christian home and came to a personal faith in Christ at an early age. Phil was an active part of his church and youth group during his growing up years. Phil enjoys physical activity such as hiking, fishing, hockey, flipping his children around and Karate. Phil also enjoys singing and playing his hand drums, jembe and cajon. He went to Emmanuel Bible College for four years and left with a Bachelor’s of Theology, and a wife; Amanda. In the fall of 2003 Phil was hired as the Senior Pastor at EauClaire Missionary Church, where he served for nine years. Phil and Amanda have four girls, and a dog who keep them on their toes. Phil is excited to serve the people of the church and the community of Palmerston/Minto. It was very evident during the hiring process that God was calling the DesJardine family to Palmerston. Both Phil and Amanda are excited to see what God is going to do in the community of Palmerston and surrounding area!
Born into a pastor’s family, Joanne is thankful for the Christian heritage passed on to her by her parents and grandparents! Raised in Aylmer Ontario, Joanne gave her heart to Jesus as a young child. She later attended Emmanuel Bible College before meeting and marrying Verdun, a trucker. A mother of two children and mother-in-law of one, Joanne recently became a grandmother and is privileged to spend time with this little one and watch her grow! A long-time member of Palmerston EMC Joanne has served as the church secretary since 1994. In her time at PEMC she has also served as business administrator in addition to volunteering in the nursery and library, and also as bookkeeper. She loves interacting with people whether it’s family, church family, friends or folks in the community! Joanne loves Jesus and is grateful that He loves her too!
